I quite like the tag "superfrieddeepfilledfunk". How would you describe the band?

ifunk = indie hip-hop but superfrieddeepfilledfunk will do it as well

You latest album I.C.H.I.L.E. has had some great reviews of late. I guess you're pleased with the reaction it has recieved!
Reviews are hard to take, everyone has got a opinion good or bad you need to check it out and with myspace and the internet its easy to find out for yourself its like our gigs you may not like funk or hiphop but you may just love cantaloop

844942586_l.jpgIt features remixes by The Fun Lovin' Criminals. How did that come about. Did they approach you?
We have toured with them off and on for about 5 years and Frank there drummer is part of the cantaloop brotherhood but with us hes a M.C when commitments with FLC permit youll find him on stage with usbut as far as the remix goes we asked

Do you enjoy doing hometown gigs, or do you prefer playing to brand new audiences?
Home town gigs always have a little bit of pressure, but playin live is our thing so we enjoy them both

What do you think makes you different from other bands doing the rounds at the moment?
by not following any movement, in our minds means our head is above the parapet ..iFunk Therefore I Am

You often have special guests and additional musicians when you tour. Who have you worked/played with?
Frank - Fun Lovin Criminals
Paul Wetton - Rob Plant - Soul central
Atholl Ransome - Mark Ronson - Haggis horns
Erine Mckone- Galliano - Paul Weller - Candy Staton
Ian Reid - Beverley Knight - Ronnie Jordan
Gavin Monaghan - Editors - Twang- Nizlopi
Kev Davies - Lamb

What do you think of the Music Scene in you area at the moment?
Its good in general , there seems to be more venues then before more real music not just the superstar Dj's!!!!!!!!
We dont really have a area as such, we seem to be in between so many areas, because the band has member from all over the west midlands ..so local can be Worcester Birmingham Wolverhampton West-Bromwich Kidderminster Leicester

Can you recommend any good bands or performers to look out for?
Not so much look out for but you should listen to The Clash live at Shea stadium/ The Wackness has a really good sound track early to mid 90s hiphop/ if your chillin try watching Breaking Bad/ Califoracation season 2/ Weeds all seasons

What do you do when you are not working with Cantaloop?
Chillin : being in cantaloop for as long as we have, means we can do naff all, allday and then some.
But thats when we are not booking gigs/ tours, rehearsing, recording, Songwriting, doing artwork cd-inlays flyers posters web tee shirts, myspace and facebook updates and of course gigging which includes driving 2-3 hrs sound checking doing the gig packing down then driving back home or to the hotel which are never very close.

If you weren't touring the world bringing iFunk to the masses, what job do you think you would be doing?
Not sure as Ive done very little else .. Go in search of The Holy Grail .. ?
Not really a job but worth it and very rewarding if you find it ..

Any insightful words of wisdom for our readers?
Be relentless / show your respect to those who deserve it.
