Down to the Marrs Bar for The Little Hellfire Club's 2nd all-dayer birthday bash - unfortunately arrived just too late for Meg who've brought the brilliant 'A Song For' back into their set - but I will definitely catch the Kiddy rockers at the Worcester Festival in August.

Saw A+R aka the acoustic twosome Ash and Rachel at the Gun a couple of months back and I like the way the laidback duo have developed their loungecore set with a strong reggae/dub flavour - pleasing feelgood stuff. I haven't seen Pete Austin's Braggish acoustic set before but liked it when he paired up with Stu from The Donns - he's one to watch out for!

First of the out-of-town acts were Gindrinker from Cardiff - they're Hellfire regulars but I'd forgotten that avant-garde was a bit of an understatement for this duo. Must confess that I find free-form jazz-rock a bit testing at times

No such 'difficulties' with the number one local get-up-and-jumping ska-poppers The Donns who have the best set of singalong numbers doing the rounds with 'Home Truths', 'Ron Jeremy' and 'TV Dinners' among the crowdpleasers.

Popped out for a halfway bite to eat so only caught the first bit of Spencer McGarry and the last bit of Flo Rowland's set - Flo's got a new CD out and she's on straight after Meg at the Worcester Festival!

AWWBLOT have been confirmed as one of the few local acts at this year's Nozstock - so great to see the Joe Patroni spin-off Girls On Film on top form as usual with their Pogue-ish takes on He-Man and German teachers.

I caught a new and improved feel for the complete rock outfit that are Silver Tequila - they appeared a lot tighter than I've seen them recently - probably 'cos of some catchy new numbers and the usual great Willis sound mix at the Marrs Bar!

Just a taste of the heavy-heavy sound of local metal maestros Expedestrian before legging it back home to catch the Sex Pistols at the Isle Of Wight on the idiot box - brilliant! Happy birthday Pete!
