Trafficker featuring Tommy Allen

Tommy Allen is one of the UK's top blues guitar players. Indeed, Paul Jones has said that in his opinion " ...he is one of the most talented songwriter/guitarists to emerge from Britain in a long time". He has played with many of the blues legends and has completed 3 UK tours with ex-Muddy Waters harp player Mojo Buford and supported Gary Moore on a UK and European tour as guitarist to American bluesman Otis Taylor.

Alma Latina

After their storming set at Wichenford last year, when everybody danced despite the rain we had to get these guys back. Alma-Latina lets British dance crowds rediscover the low-down sweaty grooves of pachanga, the bugalu, the watusi, the shing-a-ling

and the dance vibes of nuyorican 50s, 60s and 70s. Alma Latina (Latin Soul) goes right to the source with tunes by Ray Barretto, Joe Cuba, Eddie Palmieri and the other hard groove merchants which kept he dancefloors of Spanish Harlem full for 2 decades.

Mumbo-Jumbo

Acoustic blues-based mayhem is the best description of Mumbo-Jumbo. Three of the

regions top acoustic musicians provide fine performances of known, unknown and now lots of self penned songs in a bluesy, country, rootsy style.

Chris Gibbons

To get the event underway we have top bluesman Chris Gibbons playing and singing

in his own inimitable style. Chris has over 30 years experience as a professional

musician and writer.

Our Compere is Dave Reeves - The Wooden Horse of Doctor Troy

The programme will also include a series of short performances between the bands from Dave Reeves a performer poet and freereed player. He has variously been described as a folk poet, a ranter, a socio-political punk poet, and as making people                                      choke on their beers with laughter.

'... the perfect interlude ...' Blues in Britain Nov 2008.

He accompanies his spoken word performances on bluesharp and melodeon, amongst other instruments.
