Afer prior engagments at another venue I finally got down to the Firefly. Skankbox had long done their set and The Donns had only just finished. Oh well. Still Planetman to go. And go they did. From the opening number to the last roar of the crowd, Planetman had the crowd in the palm of their hands. Wonderful Life was met with utter adoration while Wrong Horses (a skanked up cover of the Fools and Horses theme) was lapped up by the upbeat and frantic crowd.
It may be a cliché but this is a band that put on a good show and seem to love what they are doing. Plus it is good to see a new venue taking the chance on live music. And from what I witnessed at the Firefly tonight, the gamble is defiantly paying off. Wall to wall music fans up for for a good time, skanking and moshing away in tiny (but perfectly formed) first floor venue. Who says that Worcester doest know how to party? Respect has to go to Siani and The Donns for hosting this night. It is really cool to see bands taking an interest in promoting themselves and the bands around them.
