Wow!! Three gigs in three days - now we're talking - kicking off with one of Worcester's finest at the Marrs Bar. Support provided from two-thirds of Leaking Machine and their melodic takes on driving tests and system failures. Wouldn't mind seeing a driving bass added though - so let us know when you're next at full strength guys

Pure powerpop enjoyment from the complete outfit that are Silver Tequila

- numbers like 'I Need You' and 'Pop Music' topped up with some catchy newbies. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this outfit who I'd rate as prime festival fodder - as soon as it warms up a bit that is!

First up at Evolution in Lowesmoor, Worcester the next night were Fights And Fires - a quality outfit moulded from three bass players - yes you heard me right - from Plot Against Paris, The Slapstix and Backwash. I love spin-off bands like this - Girls On Film, Solar Plexus and the like

- and this grungy outfit ticked plenty of boxes with the appreciative crowd.

Next up Yashin from Scotland were a emo-death-metal combo with lively but melodic proggish touches. I didn't get to check out their connection with Russian goalkeepers though - can anybody help me out on this please?

Very much a Lies In Me feel to the stoner-metal that is Dividing The Line - with touches of emo, death and hiphop thown in. They were playing The Herdsman in Hereford the next night so check out Mike's Musical Mumblings for what he thought

Tremendously impressed with the KT Tunstallish flutterings of Worcester's own Flo Rowland at the Gun Tavern in Newtown Road - a bit reminiscent of Rachel By The Stream but I don't think M/s Clutterbuck would've touched a song called 'Hangover Blues' somehow!

The evening was promoted by Worcester skasters The Donns manager Shani and great to see their sax player Hannah bopping along to Skankbox's goodtime Damned-ish powerpop with a touch of Pogues and Al Baker thrown in. This is probably the youngest outfit on the Worcester scene and hey no pressure guys but I'll be keeping a very close eye on you over the next few months

Guest band for the night were BSN(4:20) - you'll probably need to Google that to find out what's the common theme! They're from Stourbridge which like most of the Black Country considers itself part of Worcestershire - good move! Billed as ska-punksters but more of a catchy RHCP-reggae flavour to my ears - however any band who covers the 4-Non-Blondes classic 'What's Up' score immediate brownie points - welcome home guys!
