Transatlantic Roots Music, Saturday 12th September
As part of an international conference: 'The Transatlantic Routes of American Roots Music', the University of Worcester, in association with the Fold, presents an evening of US roots music featuring: Duck Baker, one of the most highly regarded fingerstyle guitarists of his generation. He is unique among jazz guitarists in that his repertoire spans the entire history of music from ragtime, through swing to modern masters and free improvisation.

This flamboyant and mesmerising group of musicians takes its name from the now extremely rare, vintage instrument, the rango, a type of marimba originating in Egypt during the 1820s following Mohammed Alis conquest of Sudan.This unique acoustic dance music has its roots in mystic healing ceremonies and combines traditional Arabic melodies and styles with a complex belief system of Sudanese shamanic practices.
A Monthly Saturday Psychodrama Group
Psychodrama is a form of group psychotherapy based in action, providing a supportive, creative and inspiring opportunity to enhance personal development. The group is led by Nancy Piercy and Huw Richards, renowned for their inclusive and participatory style. No previous dramatic experience is needed, simply a desire to explore. The course develops confidence, self awareness, personal insight and expressive abilities.

Batik painting for adults

The day will be based around producing a batik painting using a range of traditional batik techniques such as; Tjanting and brush work, cracking and dipping, painting and layering colour.
10 am - 4 pm
£50 (which includes frames and materials )
Bring a packed lunch or sample the fantastic food at the ecoCafe at the Fold
